Thank you for expressing an interest in serving as a judge for the 2025
Distance Learner Scholarship Expo on Monday, April 14th. The Distance
Learner Scholarship Expo is an opportunity for Bradley distance education
students, located throughout the country, to share their work virtually
within and outside the Bradley community. We hope that the information
provided below will encourage you to agree to serve as a judge for this
event.
What qualifications must I have to be a judge?
We invite anyone interested in witnessing the exemplary research,
scholarship, and creative work of our students to serve as a judge for the
Distance Learner Scholarship Expo. Judges evaluate students’ ability to
present their work through a short (5-10 minute) poster presentation to an
informed generalist audience. We leave expert evaluations of the projects
themselves to the students’ faculty mentors and advisors.
How much time is required to judge?
We ask for just 1 hour of your time between 4 pm and 8 pm CST, on Monday,
April 14th. You may provide us with your preferred hour within the time
frame in the judging registration form. Your time judging will consist of 1
hour for 3- 4 student presentations and questions with two other judges
present.
Will I be on my own?
We organize judges into teams; each team reviews their assigned student
poster presentations and determines scores for each as a group. You may
request to serve on a team with colleagues when you register.
How do I judge on a virtual platform?
Judging is completed on RocketJudge, a web-based platform you can access on
your tablet, cell phone, computer, etc. on wifi or cellular data. No
account or app is needed. You will receive an email containing your unique
link to judge.
Judging and student presentations will be held on a Zoom platform with a
moderator present. You will receive an email with your Zoom meeting invite
link to join the presentations with the other judges the week prior. Please
check the Zoom system requirements for Windows, macOS, and Linux or iOS, iPadOS, and Andrioid
How do I register?
Register online by completing this short registration form.
Who do I contact with additional questions or comments?
Please email the Distance Learner Scholarship Expo Coordinator, Dr. Karin
Smith, at kbsmith@bradley.edu
with any questions. Indicate you are interested in the Distance Learner
Scholarship Expo.
There are several ways that judges can participate in the Expo. While events
outside of the assigned 1 hour judging time are optional, we hope that you
can participate in these other aspects of the Expo on campus.
