Testing Services
The newest edition to the Smith Career Center, Testing Services, provides numerous resources for Employers, Children, and the Public, as well as Bradley Alumni and Students.
Employers
We serve employers by assessing your candidates for employment, and providing comprehensive evaluations and descriptions that increase the quality of your hiring process.
Assessments
- Provide results that give you the confidence to understand each candidate as well as possible, which will help ensure the success of your organization.
- Provide tests for external candidates for employment, internal candidates for promotion, and to current employees for developmental purposes.
- Allow you to “fill in the gaps” by identifying characteristics that are difficult to uncover through traditional employment interviewing.
- Evaluate candidates through tests measuring cognitive reasoning, critical thinking skills, and even more specialized abilities, such as mechanical comprehension, proofreading, and spatial perception.
- Assess supervisory and managerial candidates including their approach to leading others and their understanding of supervision.
- Examine candidates' personal communication style and their approach to working with others.
- Are Administered in a personable environment promoting accuracy and confidentiality, and including feedback to the candidate in order to clarify understanding the process or results.
Students
We offer services for students who have declared a major but are uncertain about opportunities within that area.
By using tests and assessments, participants can:
- Identify or clarify their personal preferences.
- Structure prospective career goals, by reinforcing choices they have already considering or identifying ones that they have not considered.
- Identify personal fit; where individuals with their interests and characteristics have found the most success and satisfaction.
- Gain a better understanding of themselves and how their personal attributes shape their career.
- Prepare for the journey ahead by making more informed decisions.
Children
We measure children's reasoning abilities for the general public and local schools. Bradley University has assisted Peoria School District 150 in identifying gifted children for admission to Washington Gifted School for many years. Each year we test an average of 150-200 children for admittance to Washington Gifted School. These services are also offered to other schools and the general public.
Our services for testing children
- Concentrate on assessing a child's intellectual ability.
- Provide comfortable testing in a personal one-on-one environment.
- Provide accurate and valid measurement of each child's reasoning ability.
- Provide information that is not only critical for identifying a child's reasoning ability, but is also useful in helping parents, educators, and health care practitioners in understanding aspects of the child's performance.
