what all attendees should bring

Overnight Accommodations

Students will be staying overnight in University Hall during the June/July sessions. In August, the student will be living in the room they are assigned for the fall. Orientation parents/guests/supporters please refer to the hotel accommodations tab on the main orientation page. For the June/July sessions, on-campus accommodations are available. When making your reservation for the June/July sessions, you can indicate guests wanting to stay on campus. In August, there are no accommodations on campus for parent/guests/supporters. Students will need to bring their own extra-long twin linens along with the toiletries and the usual overnight items such as a pillow, shower sandals, etc. In August, students should bring everything they will be using throughout the semester. There are community bathrooms on each floor with individual shower stalls.

We will have some extra-long twin sheets on hand for purchase, for $25, if you forget to bring your own. Otherwise, in the past based on personal comfort, some students staying in June/July have brought sleeping bags, extra flat sheets or extra-long blankets to cover the bed.

Attire

Orientation events are casual. You may also want to bring a sweater, light jacket or sweatshirt (many buildings on campus are very cold), umbrella and a rain jacket if needed.

Students will spend time in the Markin Family Student Recreation Center and engage in a Minute-To-Win-It competition where light physical activity will occur. Please bring gym shoes and recreational clothing. Guests/supporters will also have access to the Markin Center but down/free time is limited. Guests under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
