Chemistry - Chemical Engineering Concentration
The Chemistry major with Chemical Engineering concentration builds a thorough understanding of the theories and applications of chemistry while providing the necessary engineering principles to pursue an advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Biochemistry. Chemistry-Chemical Engineering graduates can also seek immediate employment in practically any chemical industry, including, but not limited to, pharmaceutical, agricultural, petrochemical, food, cosmetics, medical, and environmental.

You gain a foundation in chemistry’s five areas — analytical, organic, inorganic, physical and biochemistry. With that background, you learn how to ask — and answer — thoughtful questions about chemistry in the world around you. Courses introduce you to research as early as your first year with opportunities to participate in faculty-mentored projects. You can continue research year-round through labs, independent studies and summer grants. These projects could make a difference in agriculture, medicine and the environment.
