Fraternity and Sorority Housing Exemption Process
Living in a fraternity/sorority chapter house can be a rewarding and fun experience for members. Bradley requires students to live on campus for two years prior to being approved to move off campus.
Fraternity and Sorority Life, in partnership with Residential Living have created a process to allow freshman and sophomores the privilege to move into a chapter facility in lieu of their on- campus assignment.
In order for this to happen, a few requirements are needed:
Requesting Chapter:
- Must have a 2.75 average GPA
- Must be in good standing with the University
- Must complete all required paperwork
Requesting Freshman Student:
- Must have a minimum of a 3.0 during fall semester
- Must have completed at least 12 credit hours
- Must not have any alcohol or drug related violations or judicial incidents.
- Must be considered “in good standing” with Bradley University.
Requesting Sophomore Student:
- Must have a minimum of a 2.75 cumulative and semester GPA
- Must have completed at least 12 credit hours in requesting semester
- Must not have more than one alcohol or drug related violations or judicial incidents.
- Must be considered “in good standing” with Bradley University.
Most chapters have a live-in requirement that varies by chapter. Please contact your individual chapter specific details on the requirements.
Each semester, students will request approval to have the privilege to live in the chapter facilities, even if they are already approved in previous semesters till their Bradley live-in contact experiences (after 2 years/4 semesters)
Students who wish to move into the chapter house should do the following:
- Contact House Manager to see if a space is available for the upcoming semester
- Express interest in moving in
- Fill out Fraternity and Sorority Housing Exemption Request form by deadline
- Make sure to complete all the minimum requirements listed above
- (When applying for Fall) It is recommended that you select a Res Hall room should you be denied your exemption. Res Life will remove you from your spot if you are approved.
- If, after you complete the exemption form, you change your mind and are no longer interested in moving into the chapter (even if you terminate your membership), you must email Cory Bosco at cbosco@bradley.edu prior to the end of the semester. Failure to do so will result in a $250 fee.
An email will be sent out following the end of the semester after reviews are made. There is no appeals process to Exemption decisions.
