Jeffrey Bogart ‘69 (2024 Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient) -

For over 50 years Bogart demonstrated tremendous tenacity and aspirational resolve as a practicing attorney and distinguished leader in the field of law. Bogart committed himself to affecting positive change throughout all of his professional roles, which have included Assistant United States Attorney, Assistant District Attorney, Special Prosecutor, private law firm partner, founding law firm partner, adjunct professor and more. His career encompassed a range of case work that saw both federal and state courts, and branched from family law to high-level, anti-trust and corruption cases. The vigor and dedication Bogart brought to every one of these cases was recognized by fellow peers and professionals who awarded him accolades like Georgia Trend Magazine’s Legal Elite in both family and criminal law, one of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Lawyers in America multiple times, one of Georgia’s top 100 lawyers and many other honors that stand as a testament to his ability. Whether he was putting himself to the test on cases receiving national news coverage, or testing the next generation of legal professionals through his top-rated trial practice program; Bogart’s impact on the field of law is undeniably prodigious.

Bogart has always appreciated the roots of this professional journey beginning at Bradley University, and he never missed an opportunity to proudly present himself as an alum. He has given back to the university over the years by sharing his experience and inspiring students through lectures and courses within the Slane College of Communications and the pre-law program. In retirement, Bogart is proud to see his Bradley affiliation become a legacy through his son JD, who is a catcher on the Bradley Baseball team and will finish his undergraduate studies as a Brave.
